COLDHARBOUR Mill at Uffculme will be looking back on its latest achievements and forward to this year’s priorities at its annual presentation evening tonight (Wednesday, April 3).

The mill, which operates as a charity, has seen another year in which visitor, school and volunteer numbers have continued to grow. Projects such as the Retort & Economiser Houses restoration, development of new yarns and fabrics, and the flagship project to clear and restore the Mill Pond – Project Splash! – continue to bring the mill back to its former glory.

New areas of the mill and exhibits have been opened throughout the year to tell the story of the Industrial Revolution.

Volunteers remain central to the mill’s success and over the past 12 months a fantastic growth in numbers across all teams has taken place from tour guides to painters and gardeners to steam volunteers.

The mill, which costs £300,000 a year to maintain, is also embarking on its challenging five-year plan updated in the September 2018.

The presentation evening starts at 7pm in the Fox Gallery on Level 3 at the mill. Refreshments will be served from 6.30pm and a lift is available.
