STUDENTS from Wellington who attend Richard Huish College in Taunton came away with awards in the National Chemistry Olympiad.
Kai Norvell won silver and Benedict Monteiro bronze. The students had to take a very challenging two-hour exam.
More than 5,800 students from all over the country entered the 2016 UK Chemistry Olympiad. Many attended weekly sessions to help prepare for the award as an enrichment activity. Chemistry teacher Richard Short said: “The students gained an insight into Chemistry beyond the A-level syllabus. The students enjoyed the challenge of the preparation activities in additional classes and have performed to a very high standard.”
