PEOPLE in Wellington are being asked to nominate a person from the community to help switch on the Christmas lights at a shop in the town.

The Emporium Somerset is looking for nominations of people who are community heroes to help it and special guest Taunton Deane MP Rebecca Pow officially turn on the shop’s lights on Thursday, November 3.

Shop co-owner Cato Cooper said: “We are looking for nominations for someone who does a lot for charity, who has overcome an illness or personal difficulty, who has inspired others or who works in a caring role.”

Mulled wine or cider and mince pies will be on offer to visitors in return for a donation to SURE, The Emporium’s charity of the year.

Cato added: “People can make their nominations via email to VIP@theemporium

somerset.co.uk and should give details of who they wish to nominate and why.

“All emails must include contact details of the nominators with their address and telephone number. The winner will be picked at random and by being the nominator or nominee they have agreed to take part in publicity.”
