'Danger to life' and 'do not drive' warning as Storm Chandra set to hit WellingtonSomerset County Council received nearly £5 million from the Department for Transport (DfT) in July 2020 towards a scheme which will improve the roundabout at Junction 26 and the Chelston Link Road to the town.
The fine details of the scheme, including any prolonged road closures and localised diversions, are still being worked out.
But officers have promised the work will begin soon, and will not clash with the ongoing upgrade of Junction 25, which is on course to be finished this summer.
Council leader David Fothergill confirmed the scheme would still be going ahead at a virtual full council meeting.
