WELLINGTON'S Cornhill needs to reopen for business as soon as possible, according to local MP Jeremy Browne.
His comments came after a meeting with Steve Freeman from Don Jones Fish Shop, who has been unable to trade since fire destroyed his property on December 28.
Jeremy Browne said: "The fire devastated the buildings along Cornhill, and clearing up the mess is obviously a major task.
"I want to see real urgency to get the job done in Cornhill. The buildings are covered in scaffolding and there is no prospect of any of the shops being open for business soon.
"The immediate task is for it to reopen for access and the shops to start trading again."
