Staff and residents at Nynehead Court have said farewell to manager Angela Watkins, who has retired after 12 years’ service.
Angela joined Nynehead Court as deputy manager in 2008 and became manager in 2011. During her time at Nynehead Court she oversaw significant development at the home, which included the creation of 11 Mews properties and the construction of the Mulberry wing, and she managed the well-being of the Mews owners and that of the home’s residents and staff.
Angela was presented with flowers and photographic equipment by Nynehead Court director John Bailey, and enjoyed a retirement cake baked by the home’s chef.
During her retirement Angela plans to spend more time on her hobbies of photography and bowls, and will head to Australia in 2021 to umpire at the postponed World Bowls Tournament.
Nynehead Court manager Joanne Fenn said: “We were delighted to be able to join with residents and staff to thank Angela for her service at Nynehead Court, and wish her a long and happy retirement. We’re sure that it will include many hours on photography and bowls, her great passions.”
