FOUR students from Court Fields School in Wellington have been cooking up a storm in a Young Chef competition run by the Rotary Club.

Year 9 students Alex Henwood and Matthew Caddick, and Year 8 students Charlotte Vile and Thomas Morgan first designed a three-course meal for two costing less than £15 before being selected to cook their meals at Bridgwater & Taunton College for local chefs and many supporters.

The students were judged on their table setting, presentation of the dishes, texture, taste and flavour combinations, and food teacher Miss Coggins, who escorted the young chefs, was impressed with how they handled the pressure of the situation.

Thomas Morgan won first prize and will now go on to the next stage of the competition in Burnham-on-Sea.

Matthew Caddick was a close second and Alex Henwood and Charlotte Vile also did well.

The school would like to thank Philip Greenway for organising this year’s competition.
