Father Christmas and two of his helpers, in the guise of snowmen, paid a visit to the Rockwell Green monthly craft fair on Saturday (December 4) - and elves in colourful outfits talked to children and helped them write letters to Santa at the North Pole.

The crafters - also known as Crafting Friends in The Pop-Up Shop in Wellington - raise money to support Scotty’s Little Soldiers, Teenage Cancer Trust and the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society, with the profits split equally between the craft fair and the charities.

The craft fair was also a collection point for Sacks of Smiles, which is collecting for gifts for the homeless arranged through Taunton Open Door - the collection went well and items will be delivered to the main collection point this week.

It is also a collection point for ring pulls for the Purple Community Fund and stamps for Young Lives vs Cancer, formally Clic Sargent.

Two regular visitors won a Christmas hamper raffle which raised £43 for the crafters’ charities and Wellington Majorettes provided the cafe, which offered a range of cakes.

The craft fair would like to thank everyone for their support over its first five months - it is taking next month off and returns on February 5, 2022.
