THE Avtar Indian Dance group has held a fundraising event in aid of a charity which supports a rescue centre for Rottweilers in Wellington.

The social evening was held at Wellington Scout Hall for dancers, friends, family and everyone who the group has met over the past two years running Bollywood and Bhangra dance workshops in the town.

The event enabled visitors to try dancing Bollywood and Bhangra style, eat and be merry – and raise funds for the Rottie Friends Rescue group run by Avtar dancer Angela Curtis.

Rottie Friends is a small not-for-profit, self-funding Rottweiler rescue, rehabilitation and adoption service based in Wellington.
