RESIDENTS in Ford Street, Wellington, are celebrating after the imposition of a 30mph speed limit.

Tessa Lindsay-Smith said it was a very busy and dangerous road and that four accidents had happened there in the last four of five weeks.

She said she was ‘ecstatic’ about the news after a long fight which the parish council had taken up by writing letters to the highway authorities and which had included a petition.
