ISSUES surrounding dementia will be in the spotlight at an information morning at the Beambridge Inn, Sampford Arundel, this week.
Pub landlord Craig Holmes and his wife Karen want to set up a Dementia Action Alliance to help people living with dementia, their carers and businesses which come into contact with sufferers.
Organisers The Rotary E Club and Bridgwater DAA have invited doctors, care providers, a bank, a firm of solicitors, a foot care specialist and the Alzheimer’s Society to be represented at the networking event.
Karen, who used to work in a care home, and Craig have helped make the pub environment as dementia-friendly as possible and all the staff are trained as dementia friends thanks to Brian Standring, a local Dementia Champion.
The dementia-friendly community information coffee morning is on Wednesday (October 12) from 9.30am-12.30pm.
