NEW Hemyock, Culmstock, and Uffculme MP Richard Foord has this week called on the Government to reform the NHS dental contract and introduce measures to recruit more NHS dentists.

Mr Foord was speaking after BBC News revealed nine out of 10 dental practices across the country were no longer accepting NHS patients, and none in Devon were taking them.

He said: “Our NHS dental system is broken. NHS appointments are scarce at best, leaving thousands of people languishing in agony or being forced to shell out for private dental care.

“We need urgent action to address this dental care emergency. The Government must get a grip of the crisis.”
