FROM carer at Oaktree Court Care Home at Middle Green Road, Wellington, to manager - that’s the career road of newly promoted Abbie Foster.

Abbie’s career and love for Oaktree Court began in 2012 when she joined the home as a carer in their beautiful memory care community, the Somerset Suite.

She’s always been devoted to caring for her residents and it’s through this dedication Abbie decided to study and achieve her NVQ Level 5 in Healthcare Management, receiving a well-deserved promotion to deputy manager in 2018.

Abbie continues to be a true asset to the home and her team, particularly so throughout the pandemic. Her support for her team and her passion to care for her residents ensuring they remained happy, positive, connected to their families and not to mention as safe as possible, was simply outstanding. Her team even sent a thank you letter to the local newspaper!

We asked Abbie what it means to be the Home Manager at Oaktree Court.

“It is both an honour and privilege to be the new Home Manager, Oaktree Court holds such a special place in my heart,” she said.

“I am so looking forward to the developing my team and the wonderful care that we bring to our residents… next stop, Outstanding!”

Local to Wellington, Abbie is considered to be one of the most wonderful managers by all who meet her.

She provides strength, kindness, and friendship to her team ensuring that they can be the very best that they want to be.
