TOWN clerk Kathryn Hemensley has been left disappointed that no further action will be taken over the serious arson attack on public toilets in Wellington this summer.

It was back in June when the toilets at Longforth Road were badly damaged in the incident.

But Ms Hemensley said that although CCTV footage had identified two possible suspects, she had been informed that police were no longer investigating due to a lack of evidence.

“I’m hugely disappointed that the police are standing this down,” she told councillors at Wellington Town Council’s latest meeting.
