CHAIRMAN Duncan Short stressed the importance of fund-raising at Wellington Cricket Club's annual meeting at the Arts Centre.

He said that sponsorship and fund-raising would be difficult in the current economic climate and it was the responsibility of all to assist in this respect.

He spoke of the arrangements being made to bring over an overseas player from South Africa, and for the annual dinner and dance.
