HUNDREDS of people were involved in the annual Basins Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday.
Wellington Basins Volunteer Group, under the chairmanship of Terry Milton organised the event, which was moved from the Basins to the Rugby Club Hall because of wet weather.
About 75 children took part accompanied by numerous parents.
All the children in the egg hunt received an Easter egg and other attractions included an Easter bonnet parade, children’s games organised by Sue and Natasha, tile decorating and colouring sheets. Light refreshments were provided.
Wellington Mayor Janet Lloyd judged the bonnets and decorated tiles.
Mr Milton said: “We appreciate all the gifts from the supermarkets and shops, and big thanks to the committee who organised it and everyone who turned up.
“We would also like to thank Caroline Davy at the Rugby Club who opened early and for the time she spent, and Sue and Tasha from Wellington Experience.”
The Basins have Nature Reserve Status. The waterways and paths are maintained by the Volunteer Group. The work is financed by fundraising social events and grants.
