This year’s cohort were the first students to sit exams for two years because of the coronavirus pandemic, during which time grades were awarded via teacher assessments.

Many will now go on to their first or second choice of university while others have found work places on the back of their projected results.

Nationally, a record 44.8 per cent of students received grades A or A* in 2021, compared with 38.6 per cent in 2020, and 25.5 per cent in 2019.
