COURT Fields School, Wellington, has been selected as a finalist for the Best Careers Focused Secondary School category as part of the Somerset Careers Awards 2025.
The school’s careers lead, Charity Hunt, has also been selected as a finalist in the Careers Leader of the Year category.
The Somerset Careers Awards are an annual celebration of the work that takes place throughout the county to prepare young people for the workplace, raise their aspirations and excite them about the career possibilities in the region and beyond.
Twelve award categories highlight the range of work and achievements of education institutions, businesses and young people in Somerset, including the Inspiring the Next Generation Award, and the Young Person of the Year.
Award winners will be announced at a celebratory ceremony at Taunton Rugby Football Club on Thursday, July 10.
Headteacher at Court Fields School, Mrs Matthews said: "I'm delighted that the school's work to support our students' careers and develop young people ambitious for their future has been recognised by the Somerset Education Business Partnership as part of their Somerset Careers Awards 2025.
“Not only has the school been recognised in the Best Careers Focused Secondary School category, but the work of our fantastic careers lead, Charity Hunt, has been recognised in her selection as a finalist in the Careers Leader of the Year category.
“This is testament to all the hard work she does to lead Careers in our school.
“Congratulations to Charity from all the staff and students at Court Fields! The shortlisting as finalist in the secondary school category is a reflection, not only of Charity's work to lead careers, but also the work as part of our Court Fields Experience, in Personal Development and PSHCE, via enrichment, and in all our staff do to promote careers and ambition for our students.
“We await the results on July 10 in excited anticipation and with fingers crossed!”
