SUPERACT, a not-for-profit arts company in Wellington, is to close with the loss of eight jobs.

The company, based in Tonemill, uses music and the arts to deliver a wide range of social impact projects in this country and abroad.

The company has been involved in a number of high profile international projects including the Exe-arts initiative run from the St David’s Exeter Community Centre. It delivers creative interventions that make a positive difference in key areas of community development – improving skills, employability and health and well-being.

Chief executive Ali Smith said: “Regretfully the decision has been made to close Superact. It is a very sad day for both myself and the team who have worked tirelessly since 2006 to make a positive difference to the projects and communities we have supported both in the UK and overseas.
