INVESTIGATIONS have begun into finding out about ownership issues regarding empty buildings in Wellington town centre.

Cllr Ben Shepherd told members of the Wellington Town Centre Working Group that he has started looking into ‘who owned what’.

It has been suggested that there could be an opportunity for Wellington Town Council to take a lease on a vacant premises with a view to promoting it and using it as a ‘pop up’ shop – a place where a small trader or charity could have a shop for a temporary period of time.
