PLANS are coming together for the first Independent Traders Christmas events set to take place in the town centre next Saturday (November 19).
The entertainment schedule for South Street has now been finalised: 10.30am – Father Christmas accompanied by Wellington Majorettes; 11am – Huw’s line up – members of Wellington Majorettes will give out candy canes to children in South Street; 11.15am – Alice and James; 11.45am – Finn Askew; 12.30pm – Tobias and Ryan; 1.05pm – Esme Dickens; 1.35pm – Red Room Raccoons; 2.05pm – Court Fields School; 2.40pm – Barry James; 3.15pm – Boogie Woogie Christmas Time; 3.30pm – Hundred Faces; 4.10pm – Wellesley Park School Choir; 4.20pm – Heatwave Samba; 4.30pm – Queen Elsa, Princess Anna and the mass voices of Wellington Community Let It Go Choir.
The Hair Lounge is offering free hair-ups or braids for under-tens until 4pm and hair feathers will be available to purchase.
There will be a ‘Frozen’ grotto in Odette’s Garden – £2.50 to see Elsa in the grotto, or £5 for a photograph to be posted to home in a personalised Christmas card. Odette’s will also have Christmas cake, Austrian stollen, mince pies hand-made praline and roast chestnuts.
A mini-street fair will be held at the top of South Street organised by Wellington Carnival Committee. Stallholders include: K B Crafts, Wall Decor, Monkeynutz, Sock Animals, Kardies, Knitting items, Clarke Heathfield, Chocolate treats, Harleyjay, Fused Glass, Disneypops, Stocking Fillers, Millykatz, Iutus, Unwin Photography, Crepe Cart, Radfords Homemade Fudge.
