Holcombe Rogus Fete, one of the South-West’s top traditional events, is back with a bang at Holcombe Court on Saturday, July 10, opening at 2.15pm.

Fete organiser Michael Brooke-Webb said: “We’ve done our homework. As an outdoor event, the fete is perfectly within current covid rules. Naturally we will be observing track and trace protocols, and we’re sure that fete-goers will be sensible about social distancing.”

This means that, as usual, fete will feature quality stalls of all sorts, games for children, Jim’s Pimms tent and teas, all accompanied by Tiverton Town band.

As a bonus, visitors will get a rare chance to see the grounds and gardens of Holcombe Court, according to Pevsner ‘perhaps the finest Tudor house in Devon’.

Fete-goers turn up year after year to explore the restored gardens – lawns, fishponds; a modern Victorian rock garden; herbaceous borders and a walled formal modern vegetable garden with yew hedges and fruit.
