MEMBERS of Wellington Theatre Company are busy polishing their tap shoes before they take to the Arts Centre stage in Richard Harris’ warm comedy Stepping Out.
An incompetent and incompatible group of seven women and one man who go to an evening tap dance class are hilariously transformed into a triumphant line of performers, complete with fishnets, tailcoats, glitter and glitz.
To make the drama all the more real, Silvey Rose Webber has valiantly stepped in to replace a cast member who had to drop out only two weeks before opening night.
Stepping Out has been entertaining audiences since it opened in the West End in 1984.
