ST ETHELDREDA’S Church at West Quantoxhead is the venue for St Audries Flower Festival on Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26.

This year the theme is Your Church in Flowers with displays representing the many activities that take place in the church including baptisms, christenings, weddings and music concerts.

As well as enjoying the superb floral displays in the church, visitors will have an opportunity to climb the tower for a small charge and take in or photograph the views from the top.

Children’s events include teddy bear parachuting from the church tower – parachutes will be available on the day for this ‘bear-hair raising’ event and bears will be launched by a trained team – a treasure hunt, word search and more. Displays of arts and crafts, and local wood work will be on show.

The subject of the popular prize winning photographic competition (£1 per photo entered) is Your Garden for which photos taken in your garden – or that of a neighbour or friend – must have been taken since January 1, 2015.

The event also includes a drawing competition, jewellery, book and bric-a-brac stalls and more,

and refreshments to keep visitors fortified.

A barrel organ will provide

nostalgic music at intervals

throughout the day, as will the church organ.

St Etheldreda’s Church is just off the A39 in West Quantoxhead, opposite the Windmill Inn – post code TA4 4DS. The flower festival is open 10am to 5pm each day.
