VILLAGERS in Stawley are being urged to report instances of fly-tipping to the parish clerk.

Fly-tipping has increased in the area and anyone who comes across bags, fridges, tyres or anything else should notify Sally Freeman on 01823 674398. Alternatively, visit www.stash.org.uk which directs visitors to Taunton Deane Borough Council’s ‘report fly tipping link’.

Fly-tipping is the act of illegally dumping waste on land and can carry a fine of up to £3m for companies and £50,000 for individuals, along with up to one year in prison.

Fly-tipping should be reported as soon as possible to ensure damage to the environment is kept to a minimum.
