THE next concert in Wiveliscombe’s Silver Street Sessions series features Hannah Cumming and Jon Dyer who will perform an intimate acoustic concert in an experimental new venue, the old sorting office behind Wiveliscombe Post Office in West Street.
Hannah Cumming is 25 and has been playing the fiddle for 13 years. In the last four years she has started singing alongside playing the fiddle. She has a passion for traditional English folk songs as well as acoustic and popular music, drawing inspiration from the likes of Seth Lakeman, Nancy Kerr, Jackie Oates, Jon Boden and Eliza Carthy, plus many more.
Now she is joining forces with multi-instrumentalist Jon Dyer, an experienced performer in many bands, including Gadarene, Jon Dyer & Alfie Gidley and Palinka. Jon is usually seen playing the flute but in Wiveliscombe he will be accompanying Hannah on double bass.
The concert is on Saturday, January 26 – doors open at 7.30pm and the concert starts at 8pm. Tickets (£10/£8 concessions) are available from Wiveliscombe Post Office, phone 01984 623308, email [email protected] or book via www.silverstreetsessions.co.uk
