FORMER Conservative party Government Minister, star of Strictly Come Dancing and writer Ann Widdecombe will be speaking in Uffculme on Saturday.

Uffculme Library Friends, which organises events – including talks by local authors – invited her to support the village and Devon libraries. Widdecombe lives in Devon and is a great supporter of libraries.

She will be speaking at the Magelake Hall at 2.30pm – doors open 2pm. Tickets cost £8 and are available from the No 11 café on the Square in Uffculme, Uffculme Library or by phoning 01884 841433 or 01884 840582.

Afternoon tea will be served and tickets provide a chance of winning one of Widdecombe’s books, which will also be available for sale. Visitors will be able to ask questions and make comments.
