A funeral directors on Fore Street have taken on a former employee of a 1960s founded Wellington directory.

Dan Harvey, previously an arranger, and later a funeral director with Thomas Brothers, has now joined the Friendship & Sons team.

Owner of the Fore Street company, Nick Friendship said: “We’re welcoming Dan to support the Wellington community.

“Hopefully passers-by will see a familiar face and will pop in and have a coffee.”

In May 2024, Thomas Brothers funeral directors closed down. After leaving the company, Dan spent a year out of the area before returning to pursue a career in the same field.

He said: “I am looking forward to supporting families in the town that I live in.

“It’s all about what the family want and how I can facilitate that.”
