FOR 11 years the Friends of Wellington Park have organised musical entertainment every Sun- day during the summer. Without assistance from the community we will have difficulty in providing facilities for this year's programme of events and it is unlikely that we will be able to continue in the future.

Taunton Deane Borough Council had to stop giving us manual help for one hour a week to assist in bringing up chairs, gazebos, tables and refreshment items. We only have one member of the committee fit and able to do this as we are mostly 70-80 years of age. Unless we get the help we will not be able to carry on next year with the summer programme and without being able to fundraise to help pay for the May Day event this will also be in jeopardy.

If any readers can give us time from 1pm-1.30pm and 4.30pm- 5pm on a couple of Sundays during the summer we may be able to continue with our commitment to the town.
