HELPERS ignored the wind and rain and planted fruit trees at the Post Close Community Orchard in Wellington.

Eight trees were planted which will grow and blossom over the next 20 years. The planting was a successful conclusion to a project which has been in the pipeline for nearly two years.

New volunteers have come forward to help maintain the community orchards in Wellington and organisers are running gardening sessions on a Saturday morning every month. Anyone who wants to join should call Helen Gillingham on 01823-669121.
