A SNOW and ice Met Office yellow weather warning across the Westcountry has been extended into Tuesday (January 6).
The warning originally covered until midnight on Monday but now lasts until 11 am on Tuesday, although the Met Office said the weather front would be moving away from the West Somerset and Wellington areas.
Exmoor saw snowfall over the weekend with enough to cover roads, fields, and some houses, but the Blackdown Hills missed out.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Scattered sleet and snow showers, and icy patches, may cause some travel disruption on Monday and overnight into Tuesday morning.

“Showers will ease through Monday night, but ice will be a more widespread hazard overnight and into Tuesday morning as temperatures fall below freezing.
“Snowy, wintry weather can cause delays and make driving conditions dangerous.
“Keep yourself and others safe by planning your route, giving yourself extra time for your journey.
“Check for road closures or delays to public transport and amend plans if necessary.
Keep yourself and your family safe when it is icy.
“Plan to leave the house at least five minutes earlier than normal.
“Not needing to rush, reduces your risk of accidents, slips, and falls.

“If you need to make a journey on foot, try to use pavements along main roads which are likely to be less slippery.
“Similarly, if cycling, try and stick to main roads which are more likely to have been treated.”
An amber cold-health alert issued by the UK Health Security Agency and the Met Office remains in place until Tuesday.
The alert warned of potentially deadly cold temperatures with the ‘feels like’ temperature on some days not rising above freezing point.
But after Tuesday the Met Office expects the ‘feels like’ measure to start rising to a positive four degrees.
Road conditions on Exmoor on Sunday (January 4) meant church services were cancelled in Culbone and Oare.
Somerset Council has activated its severe weather plans and has been working to make sure rough sleepers can access emergency accommodation over the New Year.
