GREEN-FINGERED children at pre-schools in Wellington have been taking part in a gardening competition.

Wellington in Bloom was pleased to have nine entries in its pre-schools competition.

Entrants were asked to submit scrapbooks to record their efforts and the Royal Horticultural Society method of grading entries gold, silver gilt and silver was again used.

Gold award winners were: Blackdown Children’s Day Nursery Pre-School; Bouncy Bear Childcare, Beech Grove; Court Fields Community Pre-School; and Sampford Arundel Pre-School.

Silver gilt winners were: Bouncy Bear Pre-School, Brendon Road; Nynehead Under-Fives Pre-School and Forest School; Little Explorers Group at the Basins allotments; Oakfield Day Nursery; and Wellington Community Pre-School.
