ST GILES Church, Bradford-on-Tone, enjoyed a very successful tower opening.

It was combined with a talk on the history of the church by Peter Hardy, an exhibition of the church’s history with photographs and registers, and cream teas in the autumn sunshine.

The event, supported by numerous villagers and visitors, was to raise funds for the refurbishment of the church organ.

Morgan and Smith Ltd of Brighton built the organ and it is considered a fine example of its type.

Bernie Jones is pictured enjoying the view from the top of the church.
