WAYNE Brooks, who works for RGB Building Supplies’ Wellington branch, completed the Great West Run in Exeter and raised £225 for Children’s Hospice South West.
The event last month saw Wayne run 13.1 miles down country lanes and through the city centre before arriving at the Exeter Arena for a stadium finish.
Leading up to the race, RGB Wellington had been fundraising for the hospice, which is the builders merchant’s chosen charity. As well as having collection tins for donations, the branch team organised a charity karting evening for staff and customers.
Wayne said: “Children’s Hospice South West is such a fantastic charity and I was keen to do something to support them. I really enjoyed being part of the Great West Run – there was a great atmosphere with plenty of roadside support, although Streatham Rise was a struggle.
“A huge thank you to all my colleagues at RGB Wellington, and our suppliers and customers, for their donations and support – it’s greatly appreciated.”
RGB Building Supplies is undertaking fundraising activities throughout the year to raise funds to help Children’s Hospice South West continue to provide care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families across the South-West.
