WELLINGTON Park and Swains Lane Nature Reserve are to receive coveted Green Flag Awards.

The awards, given to green spaces that are well-maintained and well-managed, with excellent facilities, are a testament to the hard work of Taunton Dean staff and the dedicated support of the Friends of Wellington Park and volunteers at Swains Lane.

To get the award, green spaces must be welcoming, healthy, safe and secure, well maintained and clean, and sustainable.

Judges also take into a account conservation and heritage, community involvement, marketing and management.
