THE Guide Dogs for the Blind Association is appealing for new volunteers in Wellington.
The charity needs three volunteers to help improve the confidence and independence of visually impaired people.
A charity spokesperson said: “Some of those hoping for a volunteer have been waiting for months, so getting involved could really help change someone’s life.
“Quite a few of these people have a particular interest in visiting and walking around Taunton.”
Guide Dogs provides full training for volunteers. This includes learning more about sight loss conditions, experiencing a sensory walk, and training on how to safely and confidently guide someone with sight loss.
To find out more and apply to volunteer, visit the Guide Dogs website – www.guidedogs.org.uk/ – or call the South West Team on 0345 143 0204.
