LIBERAL Democrat Ross Henley has won a seat on Taunton Deane Borough Council after being elected for Blackdown ward in a by-election.

Mr Henley polled 440 votes in the election on Thursday ahead of Giuseppe Fraschini (Conservative) on 164 and Carl Benneyworth with 39 votes.

The poll was caused by the resignation of Cllr Charlotte Edwards and the turnout was 35.5%.
