THE quality of exhibits was very high, even if the number of entrants was slightly down, at Bradford-on-Tone Flower Show.
A large number of visitors enjoyed the event, which had good weather.
Louisa Sheppy presented the cups and trophies as follows: Vegetable – Martin Memorial Cup for best exhibit, Keith Haslam; heaviest potato grown in bucket – Garden Club Cup and voucher, Barbara Quartly; rose, best exhibit – Davey Rose Trophy, David Smith; sweet peas – Neil Palk Memorial Cup, David Smith; floral art – Christine Trip Memorial Cup for most points in section, Mandy Morgan; cookery – Betty Eliot Cup – best Victoria Sandwich, Joanne Purchase; cookery – best exhibit and voucher, Vicky Lovell; handicraft – best exhibit and voucher, Vic Wrench; photography – best exhibit and voucher, Mr O Challacombe; young people – Blackmore Plate for most original exhibit, Daisy Challacombe; best exhibit in show – Hoare Cup and voucher, Vic Wrench; Open Challenge Cup – exhibitor winning most points in the show, Keith Haslam.
