PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, from licensing for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works.
Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.
Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council in Wellington:
Farm land to operating centre
R & M Wholesale Limited of Unit 1, 2b and 2c Chelston House Farm, Wellington, Somerset TA21 9HP is applying for a licence to use Unit 1, 2b and 2c Chelston House Farm, Chelston, Wellington, Somerset TA21 9HP as an operating centre for ten goods vehicles.
Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council for the West Somerset and Exmoor areas:
Exmoor path closed for drainage works
A public bridleway in West Porlock (WL19/40 and 42) will be closed for 21 days due to tree and drainage works.
The bridleway will reopen on January 5 as soon as the works are complete.
Footbridge missing
A footbridge on a public bridleway (DU11/25) below Whiterocks Down near Hawkridge is missing but the path remains open.
The footbridge was swept away by flood water on the night of Friday, June 13.
The bridleway remains open as the adjacent ford is still passable when conditions allow but walkers/cyclists will need to wade through the water.
Emergency closure of footbridge
The Hinds Pitt footbridge on the Tarr Steps Circular Walk has been closed due to structural failure and for public safety.
Key parts of the steel structure have deteriorated to a point where they are no longer safe.
Exmoor National Park are urgently planning for its replacement.
It is not yet known when the footbridge will reopen.
Shingle Ridge permanently closes
The Porlock Shingle Ridge foot path (WL19/3) has permanently closed.
It has closed because it is impassable due to the beach.
