HUNDREDS of people have deluged Wellington's MP, Jeremy Browne with letters and signatures backing his campaign to save local post offices.
Mr Browne told the WWN: "I have been extremely encouraged by the level of support for my campaign as well as being struck by the strength of feeling against the closure programme."
In the Wellington area, West Buckland and Bradford on Tone post offices are earmarked for closure, while Churchinford is due to be downgraded.
Mr Browne said: "I am urging everyone who cares about the future of our local post offices to join the campaign."
Anyone wanting to support the campaign should contact Mr Browne's office on 01823-337874.
