The annual sports day at Wellesley Park Primary School in Wellington was a huge success. Hundreds of family members supported the children and enjoyed a picnic together at lunchtime – and the sun shone throughout.

The children showed great resilience in their own events and fantastic sportsmanship as they cheered on their houses during the track events.

Headteacher Carly Wilkins said: “It was a brilliant day and the overall winners were Sioux house. Apparently, they haven’t won for over 19 years!”
