CYCLISTS are invited to take part in the Great Somerset Cycle in aid of St Margaret’s Hospice.

They will pedal the 38 miles between the hospice’s in-patient units in Taunton and Yeovil on Sunday, August 5.

Participants are encouraged to raise sponsorship, with a suggested target of £150.

The charity, which last year supported more than 3,800 people in Somerset, needs to raise over £9.5 million a year to fund its end of life care services.

More than 200 people took part in the first Great Somerset Cycle last year. Cyclists can choose between a 38-mile ride from hospice to hospice, or a 76-mile round trip. The grand départ will see riders setting off from both Yeovil and Taunton at 9am.
