Talented artist Susie Summers has become Abbeyfield Ivy House’s newest resident in Wellington.

Susie, who is originally from Middlesex, was about 30 when she started to try and paint watercolours but when she moved to a village near Minehead she fell in love with Exmoor and used acrylic paint on canvas. She puts her heart and soul into every painting and they each take a long time to finish.

Susie, who first trained as a dress designer and then became a full-time dress-maker, has sold some of her paintings in the past.

Alisha Cordy, from Abbeyfield, said: “Susie’s paintings are magnificent and I am hoping to have a few on show in our corridors to show them off! We are very proud to have her as our amazing resident artist.”
