AN afternoon of fun and entertainment took place in St John's parish church to mark the Queen's diamond jubilee with a 'Derby Day' race and tea party in the aisles.

The Ven John Reed, Archdeacon of Taunton was among the 'horse riders' to get astride hobby horses for a dash around the ancient church.

Afternoon tea, a raffle, and a fancy hats competition were planned, as well as a fancy dress competition for children, who dressed up as kings and queens.

See this week's WWN for pages of pictures of your jubilee celebrations across our area.
