That permission established the principle of the residential development on the site and accepted the wider impacts on the highway network.
The new application seeks approval for the detailed site layout and design of the properties. It is the first phase of development for 176 homes in the south-western part of the site, to be accessed off a new roundabout on the A38 to the south of the site. The council is notifying properties that adjoin the area of the current application and any comments should be directed to the issues being considered – access, appearance, landscaping, layout and scale of the development.
The application – reference number 43/16/0103 – is available for inspection at the town council offices in Wellington and on the council website.
The public has until October 20 to comment on the application – this can be done by letter, by email or online at www.tauntondeane.gov.uk
