WELLINGTON Cricket Club held its annual Ladies Day when the First XI entertained North Perrott in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier League.

The day was a big success on and off the field as the team recorded a fine win and the event raised funds for charity, writes David Derrick.

Women sported their best summer dresses and enjoyed a Somerset cream tea.

Visitors paid £5 for tea and the proceeds will go to Target Ovarian Cancer charity.

The Wellington branch of the Co-Op gave cream, jam and scones and the club thanks its manager Mark Jones for helping out.

A member’s donation provided fresh fruit on the day.
