THE Pop-Up shop in Fore Street, Wellington, is back up and running this week after taking a four-week booking from The Wellington Bakehouse.
Set up by Craig Holmes, who also runs the Beambridge Inn at Sampford Arundel, it offers a wide selection of bread, cakes and pastries.
The Mayor, Cllr Janet Lloyd, said: “It is fantastic to see the shop open again and it is especially exciting to see a bakery back in the town after the closure of Shaul’s last year. I wish Craig and his team all the best and a successful four weeks in The Pop-Up shop.”
Craig said: “Karen and I are delighted to be able to use The Pop-Up shop to test the long term validity of such a business and the town council should be applauded for enabling such a venture.
“We identified there was a need for a bakery in the town and have been working tirelessly for the last few months to develop a product range that we feel the people of Wellington will enjoy.
“If our four-week stint at The Pop-Up proves successful, we are seeking to secure permanent home for our business.”
