RAIN did not stop play as villagers in Langford Budville enjoyed an afternoon jamboree on bank holiday Sunday.

The event was organised by Jaz Mercer and John Spackman to celebrate their first anniversary of taking over and reopening the village’s 17th century Martlett Inn public house.

Some of the Langford Jamboree activities had be moved indoors because of the rain.

Activities were moved because of the showers from the village field to the pub, where people enjoyed a barbecue, a hog roast, crafts, games, circus skills, and face painting, while musicians including Ollie Armitage, The Bird Dogs, and Goodnight Lois played late into the evening.

Proceeds from the jamboree were shared between Langford Budville Church of England Primary School and the village’s St Peter’s Church.
