LESS than 12 months ago former garage owner Les Winter was lying in a hospital seriously injured after falling off a ladder.
He had been trying to cut back a tree in Cornhill, Wellington, when he crashed to the ground, fracturing his skull and breaking ten ribs. He also broke his shoulder and damaged his spleen.
They were life-threatening injuries for the 86-year-old and doctors were amazed he survived – and how quickly he recovered.
Now Les has returned Cornhill cutting back the same plant – but not up a ladder.
