MARTIAL arts champion Kevin Ludick has been helping students at Court Fields School in Wellington improve their confidence in dealing with possibly difficult situations.

He has worked with 11-16 year olds in a free, once a week, six-week course teaching them about different situations, how a situation can go from amber to red and how to de-escalate a situation.

He has also done self-defence pad work with them in the course which ends this week.

PCSO Louise Fyne organised the self-defence/de-escalation of anger course and is hoping to organise another in the future.
